Jay-Z is raging against the machine by putting a ban on auto-tunes for his Blueprint 3 album. The album’s producer Kanye West revealed to MTV news that Jay has removed all auto-tune tracks from the project as away to take a stand.

“We actually removed all the songs with auto-tunes from the album. To make the point that this is an anti auto-tune album.”

Good to see Jay take a stand on the issue, but it might be too late. Plus I doubt it’s going to make a difference in the minds of fans who don’t expect to hear Jay doing auto-tunes. This would probably mean more if Wanye or T-Pain put a ban on auto-tunes!!!

Diddy is a-twitter about the backlash he’s receiving on the social-networking site. The mogul had released a video reveling in being the first rapper with a million followers – but now, an “unfollowdiddy” page has been started, and users are signing up in droves to drop His Diddyness’ tweets. His charming response to dissenters? “They have no lives.

T.I. is now in jail, but he’s not going out without a fight. The rapper actually won’t have too many fights in his minimum-security jail. But the rapper has taken steps to make sure we don’t forget him. First of all, he has recorded a mixtape that will be released in the future. Also, it is being said that he recorded about five music videos for distribution while he is away. This will make its seem like he’s not away.

The mixtape is called “A Year And A Day” and it features Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, and Kanye West, among others.

Also, Tip and Tiny got married and she got a show. From what I understand they are putting out a reality surrounding Tiny’s life and times. COOL.

Rapper C-Murder has pleaded no contest to attempted murder charges.

The rapper, whose real name is Corey Miller, plead out to two counts of attempted second-degree murder will be sentenced to 10 years in prison in a deal with the state at the recommendation of the prosecutor.

Miller will also receive credit for time served in jail since August 2001.

Miller’s trial began today and the 38-year-old rapper was accused of trying to shoot the owner of Club Raggs, a venue in Baton Rouge, and a bouncer at Plank Road nightclub in August 2001.

A no-contest plea is nearly the same as a guilty plea in criminal court, but does not mean an individual has admitted to guilt in a civil court case.

T.I. and longtime girlfriend Tiny are now man and wife, according to recent reports.

T.I., real name Clifford Harris, and Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, were married in a secret wedding ceremony last Friday on an island that was on the outskirts of Miami.

Cottle is the mother of two of T.I.’s kids and been the rapper’s companion since 2001.

“It’s been a crazy situation around here with all that has been taking place. In regards to Tiny and T.I., yes they are officially husband and wife. It recently took place in a very private ceremony with only members of the immediate family and certain members of the Grand Hustle family,” an unnamed source told us.

The wedding was positioned as a family trip to the media, but doubled as a wedding.
Rapper T.I. checked into a federal prison in Forrest City, Arkansas on Tuesday (May 26).

The rapper is serving a 366-day federal prison sentence for attempting to by illegal machine guns and silencers from undercover agents in October of 2007.

Rapper T.I. has checked himself into the federal prison in Forrest City, Arkansas, according to one of his attorney’s.

We’re told T.I. reported to the minimum security prison prior to the 12 PM deadline. The 28-year-old rapper was sentenced to 366 days after he was busted trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers from undercover federal agents back in 2007.

Sources say the rapper spent his last day of freedom with close family and friends at his home in

Georgia.

Gina Conway, ex-girlfriend of rapper Max B, has begun her testimony for the prosecution in the Harlemite’s murder trial.

Conway testified in Hackensack, New Jersey Superior Court that Max, real name Charly Wingate, masterminded the September 2006 murder of David Taylor in a botched robbery.

According to Conway, the real target was Taylor’s friend, Allan Plowden, who she had begun seeing shortly after splitting with Max.

She explained to jurors that Plowden drove a $120,000 Mercedes Benz and routinely carried around cash in excess of $35,000.

The two became romantically linked, and Plowden testified that he spent lavish sums of money on Conway at high-end department stores.

When she relayed this information to Max, she claimed the rapper became very jealous and promised “he was going to get him.”

Based on Conway’s testimony, the prosecution alleges that Max B began to plot the robbery, and recruited his step-brother Kelvin Leerdam to carry out the crime.

In between sobs, Gina Conway recounted how the robbery was botched from the beginning, as she and accomplice Leerdam got lost on the cab ride to New Jersey for several hours.

A cab driver corroborated the story, stating they stopped at two different Holiday Inn locations, one in Bergen County and one in New York before locating the correct establishment in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

Upon arrival, Conway and Leerdam duct-taped Plowden at gunpoint and demanded his money.

Plowden revealed that his funds were in the possession of friend David Taylor, who was staying a few floors down.

Plowden was forced to place a call, and when Taylor arrived he was shot in the head at point blank range, stated Conway.

Plowden freed himself and gave chase, and was able to strike Conway with a punch before both perpetrators escaped in a cab.

Plowden was able to make a positive ID of Conway, who was apprehended several days later and charged with murder.

After giving a 169 page statement and cooperating with authorities, her crime was reduced to armed robbery and manslaughter.

Even with her testimony, she will still serve 18 years for her role in the crime.

When asked about Max B’s reaction to the murder, Conway claimed he expressed regret and promised to support her.

“Charly told me that if I pulled it off, then he would love me forever,” she stated. “Charly said he was sorry for what happened and that he was going to take care of me.”

Next Tuesday (May 26), lawyers for Max B and Kelvin Leerdam will cross-examine Gina Conway.

Both camps have stated that Conway, a stripper at the time, was the one who planned the fatal robbery.

Max B and Leerdam face life sentences if convicted.

U.S. District Judge Charles A. Pannell Jr. has ruled that T.I. must report to federal authorities in Arkansas on Tuesday (May 25) to begin his one year prison sentence as scheduled.

Judge Pannell handed down his decision Friday afternoon (May 22), just one day after attorney’s for the rapper requested a two-week delay.

In March, T.I., born Clifford Harris, was sentenced to serve 366 days in prison for illegal firearms possession and being a convicted felon with a firearm.

Two months later, the rapper was assigned to serve his time at the low security facility of the Forrest City Correctional Institute, less than an hour outside of Memphis, Tennessee.

However, T.I.’s attorneys appealed the Atlanta entertainer’s placement, which was based on a prior offense that was designated to be a serious violent felony.

They maintained in their motion to appeal that the offense in question, a 2003 assault case for which T.I. received 75 hours of community service, “amounted to little more than a ‘scuffle’ at the mall.

“There is nothing more we can do pre-reporting,” T.I.’s lawyer Donald F. Samuel stated “We think he was scored the wrong way.”

The petition filed on T.I.’s behalf on Thursday (May 21) requested two weeks to allow the rapper to request that the Bureau of Prisons place him in a minimum security prison camp instead of Forrest City.

Despite Judge Pannell’s decision, Samuel says he plans to continue to ask that his client be re-classified even after T.I. becomes one of the 1500 plus inmates at the Forrest City facility.

I no longer felt sorry for her, but rather for Dwyane. He seems to not know any better. I can understand that he is newly single and is more than likely exploring his options. But to hear that he has assumed Gabrielle as his girlfriend disappoints me. I have met Dwyane a few times as well through my husband and he seems like a true gentlemen, someone with traditional values…but who has become caught up in the “celebrity world”.

The reason for my article is not because I am thaaat concerned with Gabrielle or Dwyane or anyone else mentioned here. The reason for this is because Gabrielle has now gone too far. She has approached MY husband. Over the past 2 weeks, I have found SEVERAL emails from Ms.Gabby. When does this woman stop? Although my husband is not innocent, as he did give Gabrielle his email address and phone number, he was smarter than to engage in her UNACCEPTABLE behavior. This is a woman whom I know, and have spent time around. I cannot grasp what goes on in her mind. I asked my husband why he was not inclined to be drawn in by Gabrielle and he gave me an honest answer, he said “she’s DANGEROUS”. When will this woman stop? To me, she seems to have Dwyane fooled…so why not continue to fool him and leave other women’s men alone. At almost 40, it is revolting to be acting as a 20 year old. Someone help her please. I will post this article AS MANY PLACES as I can to ensure that women (especially those with rich and famous men) are aware of this woman. I hope no other man or woman has to fall victim to Ms. Gabrielle Union.

The Associated Press reported yesterday that because T.I. has been given credit for the 305 days that he spent on house arrest, he will probably only spend two months behind bars for federal gun charges. MTV News spoke to a representative for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Georgia to confirm the reports0.

According to spokesperson Charysse Alexander, the media misread the sentence breakdown. Tip, who was sentenced to one year and one day in March, will indeed be given credit for his days on house arrest but that will not count towards his time behind bars. Instead it will go towards his home confinement record, where he still owes two more months once he gets out of prison.

As far as his jail time, Tip will most likely get 55 days taken away from his sentence, if he doesn’t cause any problems in the facility. Any prisoner sentenced to a year is eligible to get 15% taken off.

As previously reported T.I. will turn himself in to the Forrest City federal prison in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 26. He will be a part of the general population, joining 1,5000 other inmates.
The Atlanta rap giant’s rep told XXLMag.com yesterday that Tip will finish shooting two new music videos this week, both to be included in the re-issue of Paper Trail this summer.

The man killed during a high-profile shooting at the Beverley Center in Beverley Hills, California today was Atlanta rapper Dolla, sources have confirmed.
Dolla, born Roderick Anthony Burton II, hailed from East Atlanta and Los Angeles. He was signed to Akon’s Konvict Muzik imprint.

The rapper was shot and killed shortly after 3:00 PM near the La Cienga Boulevard entrance, after a fight between a group of individuals broke out.

Witnesses report that a woman was seen firing a handgun. Another source said a male suspect was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport as he attempted to board a flight.

Dolla was originally a member of Hip-Hop group Da Razkals Cru, before he landed a gig for Sean “Diddy” Combs as a model for Sean John.

Dolla had gained a buzz via his track “Who The F**K Is That?” which featured T-Pain and Tay Dizm.

The rapper was reportedly working on his debut solo album titled a Dolla & A Dream.

The shooting rattled shoppers and diners.

At a Chipotle restaurant next to the valet area, 10 people were eating when the shots rang out.

“The customers were yelling ‘close the store, close the store, because somebody is shooting,’ ” said Elsa Hernandez, general manager of the restaurant.

The center is normally quite peaceful, said Hernandez, who’s worked at the restaurant for six years.

“This is the first time this has happened here,” she said.

Newton Cacho, 31, works across the street from the Beverly Center. “I’m very surprised something like this happened here. You come to a nicer part of town and you don’t expect this,” Cacho said.

A few months ago a local Louisiana rapper named Nussie (real name Chris Lynell Jackson) was shot and killed in what appeared to be a random act of street violence.

Well the FBI is now claiming that Nussie’s murder was more than just that. According to the feds, rapper Lil Boosie ordered his murder.

A federal agent named Antony Jung testified under oath that rapper Torrence “Lil Boosie’’ Hatch put a $30,000 bounty on Jackson’s head. And that Lil Boosie’s bounty may have been the cause of Nussie’s death.

And apparently Lil Boosie isn’t the only one in hot water. Melvin Vernell Jr and Marcus Roach, both managers of Trill Entertainment, were arrested last week for allegedly trying to kill rapper Bruce “Beelow’’ Moore in 2005. Both men are being held without bond since their arrest May 8.

Y’all it’s about to go down!! Young Joc is in the midst of a bitter legal battle against Sean “Diddy” Combs, Bad Boy Records, and Block Entertainment. Apparently Joc feels that he wasn’t properly paid his royalties.

Rapper T.I. must report to begin serving his federal prison sentence in connection to his October 2007 arrest for possession of firearms by a convicted felon.

The Atlanta-based Grand Hustle/Atlantic recording artist has until noon on May 26 to surrender himself to federal authorities outside of Little Rock, Arkansas, where he will be serving the entirety of his sentence.

On March 27, in keeping with a plea agreement submitted in March 2008, T.I. was sentenced to serve one year and one day in a federal facility.

The rapper, born Clifford Harris, was also sentenced to pay a $100,300 fine, property forfeiture, supervised release for three years after he is released from prison, 365 days of home confinement and 1,500 hours of community service.

At the time of sentencing, he had already fulfilled 305 of home confinement and 1,030 hours of community service.

He documented a portion of his community service efforts via the MTV reality show T.I.’s Road to Redemption.

Prior to receiving his sentence, T.I. addressed the court saying that he would like to “thank some and apologize to others.”

“In my life, I have been placed in the worst-case scenario and had to make the best of it,” he continued. “Most often, things I have learned have been from trial and error. I knew no way to protect myself than to arm myself.”

T.I. will be serving his sentence at the Forrest City Federal Correctional Complex’s low security facility, located approximately 85 miles east of Little Rock and 45 miles west of Memphis, Tennessee.

Atlanta rapper UNK, AKA Anthony Platt got locked up on Thursday. We still haven’t got any information on what went down, but he’s being charged with simple assault.

DMX was released from the Maricopa County Jail in Arizona this morning — and, surprisingly enough, he hasn’t been arrested for anything yet. Emphasis on “yet.”

X was sprung from his home away from home at around 4 AM after serving 90 days in jail

— the minimum sentence for pleading guilty to the following: cruelty to animals, possession of narcotic drugs, theft and possession of marijuana.

After a hit first album, and now a second album that pretty good, Soulja Boy is planning to make a historic third album. Calling it “The DeAndre Way,” Soulja Boy says he is reaching out to artists like Kanye West, Lil Wayne and even Jay-Z to help create the new LP that will hopefully shut-up the haters. “Right now I am in the studio recording my third album, and mark my words this album will be a classic. It will be the best album I put out so far,” he recently said. Soulja Boy says although “a lot of people have been sleeping on Soulja Boy for a long time,” that he’s “got everybody’s ears open” now. Insisting he isn’t a “one-hit wonder,” Soulja Boy says “I don’t want no bulls**t. I want from start to finish, classic number one records. I’m not playing,” he exclaimed. Finishing by stating he’s got a story to tell, Soulja Boy says “I’m not a kid, I’ve grown up.”

Yung Joc is going after Diddy and Bad Boy Records. He might be the only one in the history of Bad Boy to actually take Diddy to court over money and his music.

Block Entertainment’s number one artist has been noticeably absent from the roster for at least a year. There have been industry whispers going around that their was inner turmoil inside the record label, particularly between Joc and Block.

The multi-platinum rap star alleges that Block Ent/Bad Boy hasn’t offered any label support since 2007. Yung Joc went on to make shocking claims about the inner dealings of Block Ent.

According to Joc, he’s paid for his own public relations, claims to not be receiving his advance money for his projects, alleges that Block has used advances for other projects, and even makes shocking claims regarding his former management company 9196.

Yung Joc breaks down the situation by saying that it was nothing more then a 360 deal , that resulted in Block getting a piece of everything Joc.

I’m that Big Block was charging other record companies 25k to clear Joc for a record. Joc shared tells of Block’s ‘Suge Knight -esque” actions that’s prevented Joc from being cleared to do other music projects outside of Bad Boy and Block ENT.

Some even say, one of the best to ever do it. I had nothing but respect for this dude. But all of a sudden I hear my name in the verse! My first reaction was like, “This is his new shit??? Wow, that’s too bad…” Then I felt sorry for him because he must really be stuck in the past. Not only has his music not evolved, but also homeboy is still obsessed with my wife, the same female that wouldn’t let him get to second base from 8 years ago! He even describes his desperate lameness in this bad excuse for storytelling track. That’s some real middle school shit right there! (What type of grown ass man lies about getting with a chick) Only Slim Lamey! LOL!

So as I further examine the track, I hear dude cross the line. He begins to call my wife out of her name! Now as y’all know, I don’t take that type of nonsense lightly. So on some grown man shit I’m instantly like, I got to get at this Lame. I know it’s only entertainment and I’m all for freedom of speech. But I’m from the school of thought where if you are tough enough to talk shit, you got to be tough enough to deal with the consequences that come with tough guy shit talking! Then the little angel on my shoulder said, “No Nicholas, there is no need to play into his negativity. He is just a troubled soul yearning for the lost spotlight. You must be Christ like and turn the other cheek”

But then the dude on the other shoulder said, “ What Nigga?! Is you scared?! You can’t let no man ever disrespect your wife! Especially not some Peroxide drenched homophobic has-been! This is like some Paquiao vs. Hatton shit! He is underestimating you with his ass out and you can drop him in the first round!”

Then, without listening to either one of the voices on my shoulders, I analyzed the situation from a logical perspective. Am I going to battle Eminem and try to out rap him? No, that would be stupid. The dude is nice on the mic. Even though nowadays he lacks substance, rapping about when he used to be hot. Like when Al Bundy gloats about his High school football prime.

Then I asked myself should I go find this Bitch and just whoop his little ass? But that might have just been the Creatine and protein shakes talking! LOL. Even though most people don’t know that I’m nice in the ring and have been training in boxing and Martial Arts for years that would just be childish and silly of me to bully this dude. He clearly has been picked on all his life and I would hate to add to his deep-rooted pain. As we all know he has had a hard life and has major insecurity issues and is very confused and unhappy with himself. So a guy like that doesn’t really need another ass whoopin, he needs a hug. We should really pray for his troubled heart.

So just when the good guy in me is about to emerge and shine through, something hits me… Something bigger than rap beefs, something bigger than jealousy infused insults, something bigger than lackluster attention seeking punchlines, something bigger than artistic expression. I realized, that this so-called man has just disrespected and slanderized one of the world’s most significantly influential artists, one of the most notable BLACK females of our time, the incredibly cherished, globally loved and world-embraced woman of color, Mariah Carey!

Some people may not realize or tend to forget that my wife is a Black woman. And she has had enough difficulty in her life dealing with racial and ethnicity issues. Believe it or not, Mariah is the same racial mixture as our beloved president Barack Obama.  

Maybe I’m going too far, but I thought we got passed the days where white men could spew vulgar obscenities at our beautiful queens and get away with it. What’s next? Are we going to let this trash say something horrible about our lovely first lady, Mrs. Michelle Obama? Or would Marshall have talked sideways out of his neck like this about Oprah Winfrey? This act of racist bigotry cannot go unnoticed.  Calling my wife a “cunt” and a “whore” is way worse than anything Don Imus could have ever said. So trust, repercussions will be served.  Anybody got Al Sharpton’s number?! LOL

In response to the recent outing of Grand Hustle rapper Alfamega as a DEA informant by The Smoking Gun, label head and “King of the South” T.I. plans to address the media “soon,” according to DJ Drama in an interview with XXLMag.com last night (May 7).

“I spoke to Tip about it and Tip is definitely preparing to speak to the media about the situation,” Drama told XXL. “And as boss man, I would definitely honor him to make a statement before I make a statement, but there’s definitely a consensus among .”

Though The Smoking Gun has been known to invade the private lives of rappers — also outing Rick Ross as a corrections officer last year —Drama remains understandable of the intrusions in the name of authenticity.

Their marriage was doomed from the beginning because Kelis is shady. She comes off real nice and sweet, but behind all that she’s as conniving as one of those from the soap operas.

Here’s an example ways. Her and Nas bought a condo together. But come to find out later that Kelis made sure that she put it in her name only. And she signed all the papers a few days before they got married so that everything would be hers.

As far as the cheating goes, I don’t know. I can’t put anything past her….

It’s sad that their marriage apart, but Nas is to blame. He talks to her real disrespectful. If you’re supposed to love someone, you can’t let certain words or certain things come out of your mouth.

The two have been alleged to be cheating on one another from day one. While Nas was jumping off with the random chick, Kelis was doing her thing, too, cheating on Nas several times. And oh, let’s not forget that famous sex tape featuring Kelis (after) getting slayed by rapper Infared.

Wow … We wonder what Nas is gonna do with that damn tattoo of a nude Kelis on his forearm.
