Update:
As reported by us yesterday (October 21), Lil Wayne has just pled guilty to attempted weapon possession in New York.
Wayne was busted on July 22, 2007 in NYC after police pulled over his tour bus because they allegedly smelled pot.
Cops say when an officer approached the bus, Wayne tossed a Louis Vuitton bag with a gun inside.
New York is known for having extremely tough gun laws — Wayne is expecting to get 1-year behind bars.
Wayne’s troubles are far from over.
The rapper still faces felony drug possession and weapons charges in Arizona … after cops found 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy, various drug paraphernalia and a handgun on his tour bus during a traffic stop in Yuma County back in 2008.
Wayne pled not guilty to those charges — his trial is set for March of 2010.

Lil Wayne will be forced to plead out to a jail term in New York City on Thursday, according to sources.
The rapper is expected to accept an 8-month bid in jail over his alleged involvement with a loaded .40-caliber pistol gun found on his tour bus in 2007 while in New York.
The 27-year-old now faces 15 years in jail for each count of criminal weapons possession and criminal possession of a loaded weapon.
“Wayne is going to plead guilty,” a source close to the case told us, stressing that this was definitely going to happen. The rapper pleaded not guilty at press time and has yet to make any such public declaration. “The date is coming up and he’s going to do it tomorrow.”
Wayne is rumored to be willing to accept the deal to avoid a long term in jail over the gun. The same source said the term will begin in February of 2010 under the terms of the deal. “If he doesn’t plead, he goes to jail for a long time,” the source said.
“They told him that if he doesn’t plead tomorrow, it will go to trial and then he faces a far longer jail term,” the source continued.
A small amount of DNA may have changed the landscape of the case, according to a report by the Associated Press. There is a “minuscule” amount of the rapper’s DNA on the gun, reports say, and that has strengthened the case for the prosecution.
Another hearing is set to resume tomorrow, where the rapper will reportedly announce his next move.
We was unable to obtain comment from representatives for Wayne at press time and the rapper didn’t speak to the media at a court date earlier today.
Lil’ Wayne has another trial looming in March over felony drug and weapons charges from a January 2008 police raid.
Lil Wayne’s father Birdman claims that Jay Z can’t be the number one rapper. Why??? Because according to Birdman, he doesn’t have as much money as Lil Wayne.
Two months after being signed to Young Money Entertainment, Omarion has been dropped from the giant recording company. Spilling the beans about the matter is the label’s president Mack Maine on his Twitter which reveals that Omarion is fired because he has allegedly leaked his duet song with Lil Wayne.
“ATTN: Omarion is no longer Young Money … the song they leaked ft. Wayne is not official .. good luck 2 him in his future,” so Mack wrote. Shortly after that, one of Young Money’s artists Jae Millz re-tweeted Mack’s short message, apparently trying to emphasize that the news is not a rumor.
Omarion was previously signed to Epic Records before he joined Young Money Entertainment in June. He is currently working on his next studio album titled “A New Me”. Now that he is out of Young Money, it seems that the rapper has to seek a new home to drop the effort.
Up to date, Omarion hasn’t offered any comment concerning him being axed from Young Money.
Lil Wayne on Rick Ross:
“People be mad at Rick Ross because he had a job,” Wayne snorts, shaking his head. “Like, ‘Ha ha, you had a job before you had a job, ni**a!’ Stupid sh*t.”
–Lil Wayne weighs in on the controversy surrounding Rick Ross’ previous job as a corrections officer in Rolling Stone.
When rumors first surfaced back in January about Lil Wayne’s plan to release a rock album called Rebirth (Cash Money/Universal), a collective wave of WTF? quickly spread over the Internet. But, fear not: According to Bryan “Baby” Williams, Wayne’s mentor and father figure, as well as Cash Money Records co-CEO, the new album is less about Wayne going rock and more about him experimenting and growing as an artist.
“It’s not a rock record,” Baby told VIBE recently during an exclusive interview.
“That’s what I think people are getting misunderstood. When you speaking about a rock record, you think he’s got a guitar and everything, but it’s not that. It’s going to be some of those types of beats, but it’s just great music. I don’t think no artist can do what he about to get done. My son is a rock star.”
“He can rap, he can sing, he’s just an artist,” he says. “I don’t think no one will ever be greater because I don’t think no one puts in the time or the quality. If someone do come along, can you imagine what he’ll have to do?
He got to put out on thousand mixtapes, do a thousand records sell 100 million records. 2Pac, Jay-Z and Biggie didn’t get to the shit Wayne’s done.”
Originally slated for an April release, Rebirth is now scheduled to drop on June 16. In related news, Baby’s fourth solo album Priceless (Cash Money/Universal) will also drop in June. The lead single from that album, “Always Strapped,” features Lil Wayne and is currently available on iTunes.
Lil Wayne is slated to be the first recording star to appear in a revamped version of the hit VH1 series “Behind The Music” ! After covering the lives of everyone from Mary J. Blige to LL Cool J prior to 2006, VH1’s “Behind The Music” took a break. Today, VH1 executive vice president of original programming says “It felt like the time is right”. “There’s all sorts of new artists on the scene who have emerged and have these great stories. And there’s other artists that we always wanted to do the first time around.” According to the Hollywood Reporter, VH1 has ordered 10 new episodes of “Music”due to air later this year. Grammy Award-winning musician Scott Weiland has reportedly signed on for the series with Lil Wayne. Other participating entertainers will be revealed at a later date.
Lil Wayne was scheduled to appear and perform on Snoop’s “Dogg After Dark” Show on MTV, I am hearing. The crazy thing is he never made it. From what I understand, the N.O. rapper canceled twice – two days in the row. Nobody quite knows why, but there are some sentiments that perhaps Weezy’s camp had some concerns with security and safety.
Lil Wayne’s Rock album may not make it to the light of day. The songs that have been released have not gotten a lot of commercial traction. Even though Wayne is still a popular artist, some quietly seem to feel its a bad idea. He was to release it in April, but now…summer? What next? Never? Time will tell, but that’s the word.
Lil Wayne made this years Billboard’s Top 20 “Music Money Makers List.” Weezy came in 12th on the list with more than $57 million beating out Mary J Blige and Kanye West. More details on Lil Wayne’s first rock album “The Rebirth” are starting
to come out. The producers behind his first single “Prom Queen” ,
Infamous & Drew Correa, say “There were rumors Wayne was working on
a rock album, but I assumed it was just 808 drums with guitars on it,”
Infamous said. “But, that night when we worked on the track,
said he wanted lots of drums, bass and guitars. Drew started to add
organs, and said no. That’s when I realized it was actually
going to be a real rock album. You gotta give him credit – he’s done
everything he can with hip-hop and has proven himself. Now he’s about
to prove himself as a rocker and we’re excited to be a part of it.” As
previously reported, Lil Wayne will release his first Rock album “The
Rebirth” on April 7th. Wayne will perform the first single “Prom Queen”
for the first time live on AT&T’s Facebook page on today, (1/27) between 9-10 p.m. PST
So
… doesn’t read books …
and that even if he did read, he wouldn’t believe anything written in
them.
Here’s what the 5 foot rapper said in a recent interview:
I don’t believe the Bible, nothing that’s written, because
nothing that’s written is to be believed… Well. There is one I
read and get information from. The damn dictionary.Yeah, when we be in the studio fussing over a word—no, it don’t mean
that it mean this! Go to the Internet, Google that shit. That’s like a
normal thing to do around here. Dictionary comes up as one of those
little things on my computer.
Lil Wayne will rock this years Grammy Awards. Weezy racked up eight nominations this year (the most by any artist) including Song of the Year, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Solo Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group and the coveted Album of the Year .The 51st annual Grammy Awards will air from the Staples Center on February 8 on CBS. Having one of the highest selling albums of the year with his multi-platinum effort Tha Carter III, was just one of the many accomplishments Weezy had this year. Lil Wayne is currently on his “I Am Music” tour with T-Pain, Keyshia Cole, Gym Class Heroes and Timbaland protégé Keri Hilson.
Last year everyone couldn’t wait for the beef between Lil Wayne and 50 Cent after the G-Unit general called Weezy “a whore” for appearing on everyone’s records and questioned Lil Wayne’s sexuality after the infamous picture of him kissing Birdman surfaced. But Lil Wayne never replied…untill recently.
A new song “Louisianimal” from the “The Drought Is Over Part 6″ mixtape leaked last month. In the track Weezy fires back saying ‘All about a dollar, fuck two quarters/Bitch I’ll pour syrup in that vitamin water/I hope you die ugly, and tonight will be gorgeous. After the leak, many people speculated that the song was old and was leaked without Lil Wayne’s permission, but 50 is now questioning that.
“Think about it, no one from his camp said it was a leak. We could assume it was leak but he’s a celebrity. If it was a leak, he would come out and say something” 50 said in an recent interview on Shade 45. 50 went on to say “It doesn’t matter if it’s old or not. Now I know how you feel. I’ll leave it like it is right now and wait till I’m comfortable and then I’ll do what I do.”
