Beyonce might be mum on Etta James’ wacko verbal slap, but Barack and Michelle Obama, apparently, were taken more than a little aback.

A White House insider tells the Chicago Sun-Times the First Couple was “stunned” by James’ remarks. “It never crossed anyone’s mind that there was anything inappropriate about Beyonce singing that song,” admitted the source. Worse yet, “I’m sure some of the younger people involved didn’t even know she is alive!”

Etta said yesterday it was all a big joke. Hilarious.

In this week’s National Enquirer, they have a report claiming that Michelle Obama had to set Beyonce straight.

Here’s an excerpt:

”Beyonce has spent months gushing over President Obama, and when she was in the same room with him, she couldn’t tear her eyes away from him,” revealed the source.

“Before things got out of hand, Michelle got word to Beyonce to tone things down or risk being banned from the White House in the future.”

Michelle was also appauled when she found out that Beyonce had pulled strings to get the Secret Service to chauffer her and her husband Jay Z to their car after rehearsals.

Usher has recalled his frosty first meeting with U.S. President-elect Barack Obama – when the pair battled over a candy bar. The R&B star built up an appetite after spending a day campaigning with the future president and had his eyes firmly fixed on a snack left in Obama’s car.

But Obama was also determined to nab the sweet, sparking a friendly battle between the pair. Usher tells MTV, “The first time we met, we actually were in transit in his car… kind of rolling. And, I’m starving, ’cause I hadn’t really ate.

“We had been campaigning all day, all over the place, and I kind of look around and I’m like, ‘Oooh, let me eat this candy bar or whatever. “And we both look at it, and I’m like, ‘You’re not gonna eat that, are you?’ and he’s like, ‘You’re not gonna eat it, are you?’ I’m like, ‘Well, I’m gonna eat it if you don’t.’ So I grab and I tear it open – I took the man’s meal.”

On last night’s Bill O’Reilly show, that right wing nut brought on a bunch of crazies to try and link Barack to Jeezy and Jay Z’s concert.

Y’all know we love us some hip hop. But all these rappers need to just keep Barack’s name out their mouths. He’s too important to be brought down by a bunch of … dudes.

No doubt Sasha and Malia Obama had a ball of their own last night…especially since the Jonas Brothers were involved!

At ages 7 and 10, respectively, the new first daughters were a little too young to appreciate the 10 formal inaugural balls, so White House staffers treated the girls and some of their new school friends to a double feature of new Disney flicks Bolt and High School Musical 3, according to ABC News.

Afterward, they were taken on a late-night scavenger hunt around their new digs, much like Chelsea Clinton did at the dawn of her dad’s administration. Upon completion, the biggest surprise of the night waited behind closed doors.

The tweens had a dream-come-true moment when they opened the doors and found pop stars Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas waiting for them.

The JoBros and Obama girls first met the night before at the Kids Inaugural concert.

We all sawthe Republican head of the Supreme Court make a possibly CRITICAL error during the Inauguration. Apparently, he messed up the oath.

The oath is supposed to have been read as follows:

I Barack Hussein Obama do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States….

But here’s what Chief Justice Roberts said:

I Barack Hussein Obama do solemnly swear that I will execute the office of President to the United States faithfully

It’s not clear what would have happened if Barack repeated this ERRONEOUS oath – but he didn’t. Check out the below video of Barack checking the Chief Justice:

There’s been tons of speculation as to which artists will be performing at the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama. But we can tell you for sure which artist WON’T!!

A well placed insider who claims that the Obama camp has asked Jay Z not to attend the Inauguration. The insider explained,

“Some of Jay Z’s lyrics make him a lightnig rod for criticism, that’s not what Barack Obama needs at the start of his administration … Too many people are looking for reasons to criticize Obama already, why give them more ammunition.”

We’re kinda with Obama’s folk on this one. Camel face did have some pretty reckless lyrics in the past…
